Certificación: Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician
Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician work in healthcare facilities and are individuals that specializes in monitoring EKGs. Their jobs include observing the cardiac monitor and reporting any abnormal changes to the nurse or physician or referring physician or assigned healthcare professional immediately via intercom or communication services provided. They must be attentive while on the job and must be able to clearly and accurately communicate the message.
Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician monitor patient's heart rhythms using telemetry equipment and therefore must have knowledge of normal rhythm versus the various types of abnormal rhythms and should also be able to interpret and measure rhythm strips by rate and EKG intervals, records physiological measurements, identify cardiac arrhythmias, report any changes from the baseline, assist and perform application of EKGs. To measure the patient's heart rhythm, the Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician use calipers on the graphic tape readouts.
