Beginning in January 2005, the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB®) is offering a new certification credential to Registered Nurses (RNs) who perform foot and nail care. The WOCNCB® is dedicated to providing consumer safety and protection by offering this new credential - CFCN® (Certified Foot Care Nurse). The objectives of the foot and nail care certification are to<br>promote excellence in this area of nursing by: 1. Formally recognizing those individuals who meet all the<br>requirements of the WOCNCB®.<br>2. Encouraging continued professional growth in the practice<br>of foot and nail care. 3. Establishing and measuring the level of knowledge required for certification in foot and nail care.<br>4. Providing a standard of knowledge required for certification, thereby assisting the employer, public and members of health professions in the assessment of foot and nail care practitioners.
